Hidden Cookies
The other night I picked up a package of delicious cookies for Brad and I to share. "Share" in this instance means to share only with each other.
After lunch, I wanted to have a small taste of chocolate. Should you really chance eating a cookie while the kids are not asleep? Yep, I should.
I went over to the cupboard and found the package of sinfully delectable cookies- at the very top and hidden behind cans of creamed spinach (what on earth was I thinking- creamed spinich?!?). Taking great care to not to make the wrapping crinkle, I slipped one out and took a bite. Mmm!
As I tried to put the cookies back in their hiding spot, I heard them: pitter-pat pitter-pat.
Crap.
"What you eatin', Mama?"
"Oh nothin'," I said around a mouth of baked deliciousness.
"A cookie?!?"
"There's not anymore." Liar.
The older one spoke up: "You know, God wants us to share."
Crap.
